Liposuction
Liposuction, also known as Lipoplasty and Suction-assisted lipectomy is an ideal method to remove localized fat deposits from problem areas that do not respond to diet and exercise. Lipoplasty is a body contouring surgery, not a weight loss surgery. Ultrasound-assisted lipoplasty is a newer method that is especially good for treating fibrous areas such as backs, love handles, and male breasts because it selectively melts fat cells. Body Mass Index
Plastic Surgery is not a substitute for diet and exercise. Overweight and obese patients are at increased risk for complications including death when undergoing body contouring procedures such as Lipoplasty (liposuction) and Abdominoplasty (tummy tuck). Patients should have a BMI of no greater than 25 to undergo these procedures. Calculate your BMI with the Standard BMI Calculator.
